Frequently Asked Questions
Will kraft labels work on my honey jars?
Yes — for jars stored at ambient (room) temperature. Kraft paper is not waterproof, so if your honey jars are refrigerated or exposed to condensation, the label edges may lift over time. For cold-storage or high-humidity environments, consider our White BOPP labels, which give a clean waterproof finish with a similar warm ink-print aesthetic possible.
Can I print white ink on kraft paper?
Yes. White ink prints on kraft paper and shows up well, though it reads as slightly cream or off-white against the brown substrate rather than bright white. This actually enhances the artisan feel. If you need true bright white, you'd need a white BOPP label with kraft-coloured ink design instead.
Are kraft labels eco-friendly or compostable?
Kraft paper is biodegradable and recyclable. The permanent adhesive liner is not compostable, but the label face stock itself will break down. If you need to make compostable claims on your packaging, contact us — we can discuss options and documentation.
What's the minimum order?
500 labels per SKU. Kraft labels are priced comparably to our standard paper stock — see our Label Bundle listings for 500, 1,000, and 2,500-pack pricing. High-volume pricing is available on request for orders over 5,000 labels.
What design file do you need?
Print-ready PDF in CMYK with 3mm bleed and fonts outlined. Keep in mind that the brown paper substrate will affect how lighter colours (especially yellows and pastels) appear. Our pre-press team can provide a simulated proof on the kraft texture so there are no surprises.
